Hector Gutierrez is vice president of Hunt Energy Horizons (HEH), the renewable energy subsidiary of Hunt Consolidated, Inc. Gutierrez is an accomplished executive with three decades of development and management experience in the electric energy sector in the U.S. and Latin America.
Gutierrez joined HEH in 2011 to lead its business development efforts in Latin America. More recently, he has led the operations of HEH in Costa Rica, where the company began construction of its first wind farm in early 2015. The wind farm is scheduled to start commercial operation in January 2016. Additionally, Gutierrez is part of the development team of Hunt Energy Solutions.
Before joining Hunt in 2011, Gutierrez was vice president of Duke Energy International, and served as Country Manager for Peru, Ecuador and Central America. He oversaw the management and operation of Duke's generating companies which owned thermal and hydroelectric power plants, and also led the development and financing of new plants. Prior to joining Duke Energy, Gutierrez had led the development and financing of large infrastructure projects involving power plants and natural gas facilities in other Latin American countries.
Gutierrez holds both a Mechanical Engineering degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from Southern Methodist University. He is a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas.
